We don't recommend setting the master volume above 0db, as this can create distortion.
If you record very loud instruments, the 'pad 26db' buttons are attenuators that can help you in the event of saturation; in most cases, you won't need them.
We recommend putting microphones in 1 and 2 to have access to compressors
